MIB thrives on building relationships.
Be it between the students and the faculty, amongst the selected
bunch of enthusiastic go-getters, and between the young bloods
and the experienced Corporates.
We know that the purpose of an MBA institute is not just to
develop graduates who are thorough with text-book wisdom, but
to develop professionals who are aware of industry trends &
practices and are prepared for rigorous corporate work environment.
We know this is possible only by building and nurturing a long-term
relationship between the Corporates and our institute which
can mutually profit both.
The various relationship building activities are geared towards
this end. In fact, the students are always pushing themselves
so that they not only add value to themselves through these
interactions but also to challenge the existing standards. The
Corporates gain from listening to fresh perspectives & radical
ideas and possibly seeing their future bright employees.
The distinct relationship building activities serve their purposes
in their own right. They are conducted throughout the year,
some conducted weekly on a regular basis and some other which
are undertaken during an educational semester. The various activities
that fall under the ambit of corporate relationship building
process are the following Guest
Lectures
Guest lectures provide an ideal platform for the corporates
to share their experience, and for the students to broaden their
knowledge base. This two-way interactive process helps the corporates
to interact & gauge the students’ intellect and at
the same time enables the students to gain industry insights.

The students also have an opportunity to work in the
corporate sector for a duration ranging from a week to a month
through live projects. The students have undertaken their
projects in O&M, Mitsui Trading Corporation, DSP Merill
Lynch, Titan, etc.
Research Projects
Research projects provide another avenue for the students
to interact and work closely with the companies. Students
perform rigorous research work which enables the companies
and organizations to gain a competitive understanding of the
topic of research. The students did research work on “How
foreign firms can establish business in India”, “The
Healthcare & Biotech sector in India”, etc. for
Synovate Business Consulting and on “Rider ship increasing
strategies” for DMRC, among others.
Optional Speciality Subjects
Apart from the core course curriculum, the students have also
initiated Optional Specialty Subjects so that they can gain
incisive knowledge and learning of relevant topic of importance.
The purpose of such an initiative was to fortify oneself with
latest industry knowledge topics so that the students are
prepared with specific skill sets that the corporates are
expecting of them. Some of the subjects include Risk Management
in IB, Data driven Market Analysis, Derivatives market, etc.
Alumni Interaction
The students are always in constant touch with the alumni,
who constantly help and educate the students about the latest
industry events and issues, help out in placements and help
in enhancing the students’ value addition in the institute.
Regular alumni get-togethers, alumni nights and sports events
are held regularly in this regard.
