seminar was held on 25th September 2005, featuring ambassadors
and trade commissioners from Pakistan, Israel, Russia, Poland,
Uzbekistan and New Zealand, converging to give insights into
the business and economic environments of their countries vis-a-vis
global investment.
The Minister Counsellor of Russia, Andrew
Sorokin spoke about the long standing tie that existed between
India and Russia, and how India is a strategic partner in
its international trade.
The High Commissioner of New Zealand,
Graeme Waters discussed about the importance of global investment
in increasing productivity of international community. He
elobarated the friendly trade policies that are being practiced
by New Zealand for increasing trade.
The Charge d’Affaires of Uzbekistan,
Professor Saydakmal S Saydaminov spoke on his country’s
strengths in differend sectors. The Ambassador of Israel,
David Danieli spoke about how trade relations with Asian countries
were improving, particularly with India.
Mr Fazal Abbas Maken, Minister Trade,
Embassy of Pakistan, started his speech by stressing on the
role of young people in the future of the nation. He discussed
the formation of WTO and it’s implications too . Mr
Maken also said that joint study groups of FICCI and FPCCI
are assessing the possibility of increasing trade between
the two nations.
David S Zbytek, Head of Economic
and Commercial Office, Embassy of Poland, gave an overview
of the current situation in Poland with special emphasis on
plans for joining the European Union.
